Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a wide array of heroes, and a thrilling plot showcasing angels, fiends, and dark forces increasing in strength within the city.
Note: Revealing details for the third episode of this adventure lie ahead.
The Combat-Oriented Party Introduced
The latest chapter finished on a dramatic pause and introduced the premier party of heroes who will split off from the central cast to undertake their own adventure, distinct from the remaining groups.
The combat-focused team features the determined fighter (portrayed by Travis Willingham), Thimble (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
Considering a large ensemble, it was obvious from the outset that keeping everyone at a single group would be impossible.
This explains, the initial installments of this story serve as an Overture, connecting the individual narratives before splitting into three distinct groups: Warriors, Strategists, and Seekers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
As described by the DM, the combat-focused party is for participants who enjoy a traditionally charged battle-oriented gameplay experience where diplomatic options are few and far between.
At first glance, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander might appear unsuited, but the events of episode 3 make it clear why these five characters are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the party knows exactly where to go next after a violent first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose passing started the narrative’s action—used the enemy for his personal gain, entering the secret base, attacking the character, and taking all the enchanted items to dispose of.
Casimir then paid off his liabilities and escaped to a fortified location in the remote area, above Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each character has a personal reason to exit the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the close ally and trusted friend, wants vengeance.
- The adventurer knows the northern area and advises that it is a hostile place.
- Tyranny and The healer, having defied his house’s orders to kill the fighter and instead saved him, have no other options.
- However, their position as prominent individuals in the influential clan could enable the team access places they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, Teor pledged a unbreakable promise to The savior for his salvation and will now follow him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are hunted by the powers that govern Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- The rogue and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and The cleric defied House Halovar and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- The fighter is marked for death by the clan.
This means them few options but to head to Timmony in search of the antagonist.
